[column-group][column]I was born and raised in New York attending a private school where I was introduced to a variety of art including animation, video production, programming and robotics. I followed my passion for art and attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where I graduated Cum Laude in 2009 with a BFA majoring in Animation.
After graduation I returned to New York, where I immediately found a job as an assistant to the creative director for a local advertising agency. There I found my real passion for graphic design and advertising. I worked at the agency for 2 years, advancing my skills in graphic design, branding, and client interactions.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and started work as an Art Director at an advertising agency in Pasadena. I continued sharpening my graphic design and advertising skills in a larger, faster paced environment and was faced with tighter deadlines and quicker turnarounds. I also learned to prepare for, and pitch to, larger clients.
It wasn’t long before I realized the world of advertising was moving to a digital based platform and took it upon myself to learn website coding. The first website I built won multiple awards, including a Hermes Platinum Award. I was then inspired to learn more PHP coding for content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!, and ExpressionEngine, as well the HTML 4 and 5 Basics.
[column]In 2013 I was fortunate to be able to participate in an episode of AMC’s “The Pitch” where my agency competed for the client Tommy Bahama. Even though we didn’t win, I learned a lot about the process of working on advertising campaigns for national clients. I was involved with the process from start to finish, designing interactive apps, mood video, and print campaign.
I have a diverse skill set that allows me to multi-task and step in to help out colleagues in various departments (i.e. coding, video editing, art direction, animation, production, printing). I can formulate original concepts or create multiple pieces based on another design or idea . I work well in a group setting, but am able to work on my own as well. I enjoy the challenge of setting the bar high and then surpassing it, focusing on hard work and the end result.
